As Sunday School comes to the close of another year, it is time to pass the torch. God gives each of us a job to do for Him. I feel at this time, I have done that. It is time for a fresh face and fresh ideas. Whoever He has chosen for that, they will take the SS of St. Johns to new heights. It is His plan.
While I have served as SS Superintendent, there have been many changes. Believe it or not, I did not make all of them. Some were made and I was notified of them. Here is what has happened over the past 7 years in SS:
We have created a music program.
We have seen the 7/8 graders choose to not participate in SS.
We have seen the 7/8 graders added back in as a once a month Bible study.
We have seen SS move to during the 10:30 service.
We have seen a store created to motivate and encourage attendance.
We have seen a program that has been complete with dedicated volunteers.
We have seen children performing solos, duets with voice and instrument.
We have seen the requirement of Confirmation students attending SS removed.
We have seen youth volunteering to serve as Teachers helpers and in many cases
Teaching with guidance.
Most importantly, we have seen Jesus. You cannot come to Sunday School and not feel the presence of Jesus. The little faces and big faces shine Him. They talk about Jesus and sing His praises. These Sunday School children love their Lord! Amen!

If you were in church on the 14th of December, you were lucky. The Sunday School children put on their program and rocked the church. This year Sunday School did the pre-service as well as the message and offering. Every child in Sunday School read their part loudly and clearly and all children sang!
There are SO many talented children in our church. The following are children who chose to share their talents during the Christmas program by singing, reading a poem or through instrument: Emily Banwart, Alyssa Wilke, Alyson Proper, Mackenzie, Peyton, Tyler Helsom, Brandon Helsom, Connor Wilke, Nick Patzer and Michael Banwart. If I forgot anyone, I apologize. Let me know and I will get your name in the newsletter next month.
Sunday School will start back up in January on the 4th. We pray that you will have your child/children join us!
